Jackson County, Mo., soliciting new Ethics, Human Relations and Citizen Complaints Commissioners

Jackson County is currently seeking applications for open positions on its new Ethics, Human Relations and Citizen Complaints Commission.

This seven-member commission receives complaints and conducts investigations of violations of the conflicts of interests or the county ethics code, financial interest disclosure, and lobbying registration and disclosure provisions of the County and State of Missouri.

Applications will be accepted until Friday, April 29, 2011, at 5 p.m.

Criteria
  • I am a Jackson County resident and interested in serving as a member of the Jackson County Ethics, Human Relations and Citizen Complaints Commission.
  • I don't hold and am not a candidate for any other public office.
    To avoid any appearance of a conflict of interest, any commissioner who is an elected or appointed member of any committee of any political party, or is a member of any political club or organization the main purpose of which club or organization is to promote or defeat any candidate or issue, shall refrain and recuse themselves from any participation in or deliberations regarding an ethics complaint.
